Richard Lewis is Managing Director of Limelight Productions (which is part of The Limelight Group), and CEO of Fierylight, one of the pre-eminent children’s production companies in the world.

Richard has worked in the theatre industry for over 45 years. He originally trained as a drama teacher, working in the state sector. He left to pursue acting and directing and ultimately produced his first professional production in 1993, which toured the UK.

As a writer and director of children’s intellectual properties, Richard’s credits include: eight Peppa Pig Live shows (2009 – 2024) which have been produced in the UK, the US, Europe, and Australia.

He has adapted and directed many commercial properties for the stage, including LazyTown Live! and the sequel LazyTown Live! The Pirate Adventure; Teletubbies (UK tour); Octonauts (UK & US tours); Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdon (UK tour) and many more.

Previous directing work includes: Smokey Joe’s Cafe; Charlie and the Chocolate Factory; Little Shop of Horrors; Are You Lonesome Tonight; The Business of Murder; Outside Edge; The Maintenance Man; Up ‘N’ Under; Bouncers (all of the above in the West End or Number 1 touring).

Richard has also directed at a number of repertory theatres including: Theatre Royal Windsor, Liverpool Playhouse, Watford Palace, York Theatre Royal, Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch and the Churchill Theatre, Bromley. Productions have included: The Office Party; Teechers; The Cabinet of Dr Caligari; An Evening with Gary Lineker; The Trial; Greek; Orphans; Bare Necessities and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

He was General Manager at Bill Kenwright Ltd for three years and was Chairman of AKA, the London, New York and Sydney based advertising agency, also for three years. He also sat on the Council of Management for the Theatre Managers’ Association for seven years.

He is married to Alison, with whom he has two children, Matt and Sarah…who are respectively married to Hannah and Joe…who also respectively have two children, Sylvie and Willow, who he adores.
